AI4Arunachal will hold a live demonstration of its language technology on 13 October 2026 at the State Banquet Hall, Itanagar. Visitors will be able to see AI that understands and speaks the indigenous languages of Arunachal Pradesh, and try it for themselves: speak, type and listen, in their own language.
All three systems on show are in beta. They are still being developed and are not yet hosted on the web for public use, so the demonstration is a chance to try them in person.
What will be demonstrated
Machine translation: m2mTani-MT
One model that translates between five Tani languages (Tagin, Nyishi, Apatani, Galo and Adi), English and Hindi, in any direction: 42 translation directions in all. Type a sentence in one language and read it in another.
Speech-to-text
Speak Tagin and watch your words appear on screen as you talk, with live transcription of spoken Tagin into text.
Text-to-speech
Type Tagin or Apatani text and hear it read aloud in a natural voice that keeps each language's tones and sounds.

Why it matters
Arunachal Pradesh is home to more than 100 tribal languages and dialects, yet almost none of them work with today's translation apps, voice assistants or learning tools. AI needs large, labelled datasets, and for these languages that data does not exist yet. Without digital tools, they risk being left out of education, public services and the AI systems now being built.
